Mya’s Charity

Mya’s passion for helping others began in 1994 as she volunteered for the Special Olympics. She, also volunteered doing research with children at Severe Behavior Disorders Research Clinic helping children gain control over their behaviors for one year. The love and compassion she has for people lead her to volunteering with organizations mentoring women and children throughout the Greater Houston and surrounding areas.

As a child survivor of domestic violence witnessing her mother be abused, experiencing the effects of the trauma caused by domestic violence lead her to founding Phoenix Women’s Outreach, Inc. in 2011.

Phoenix Women’s Outreach, Inc. mission is to regenerate, rejuvenate, and restore women and children who are currently facing and overcoming the effects of trauma caused by teen dating, intimate partner and domestic violence. We strive to instill hope and transform lives one woman and child at a time.

Phoenix Women’s Outreach, Inc. is dedicated to empower, strengthen and enrich the lives of women and children in a positive, safe and supportive environment. Phoenix Women’s Outreach, Inc. believe educating our youth and young adults early on will prevent future cases of teen dating, intimate partner and domestic violence in the community. Also, by educating our youth and young adults they will understand teen dating, intimate partner and domestic violence does not discriminate and can happen to any gender, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic standing or sexual orientation.
